The Rotary Club of Ossipee Valley seeks to identify and encourage men and women who embody Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self” to continue their education in preparation for, or to supplement, a career. For 2019, four scholarships will be awarded for one year each in the amount of $1000 each.
Applicants must have completed (or will be completing) their high school curriculum and reside in one of the five towns served by the Rotary Club of Ossipee Valley (Madison, Ossipee, Tamworth, Freedom, Effingham). Home schooled students and adult learners may also apply.
Applicants must submit the following:
- Rotary Club of Ossipee Valley Scholarship Application: available here, and also through the guidance offices at area high schools.
- A personal statement which includes discussion of the reasons for pursuing higher education as well as why participation in community service is important to them.
- Three letters of recommendations from local references, one of which should be a teacher, and one from someone who is able to discuss the applicant’s community service experience.
- While disclosure of family income is not required, the applicant should include a statement on how he or she plans to fund their education or any special circumstances.
