Overview of Recent Club Activities

Our Club has been active over the last few months with activity in several key areas:

  • ENVIRONMENT – In support of Rotary International’s new Avenue of Service “Protecting the Environment”, members assisted in a “Clean the Kanc” trash pickup event as well as locally along Route 16B.
  • FOOD/HUNGER – Provided volunteers for NH Food Bank Mobile Food Pantry events in Ossipee and North Conway; provided monetary donations to area Food Pantries in Ossipee, Freedom, Tamworth, and Madison.
  • YOUTH/ EDUCATION – Provided dictionaries and atlases to area elementary school students in Freedom, Ossipee, Effingham, Tamworth and Madison; provided financial assistance to Carroll County Adult Education to fund an instructor for the Spring semester.
  • POLIO ERADICATION PROGRAM – Implemented educational efforts and “Pennies for Polio” collection boxes in area businesses and schools in support of Rotary International’s Annual Polio Plus day.
  • DISASTER RELIEF – Provided major financial donation to Rotary’s Project Partner in disaster relief (Shelter Box) – tents/bedding/water purification/ cooking aids/utensils/tool kits, etc. for residents of Haiti.
  • FUNDRAISING SUPPORT – Provided golf tournament sponsorship to benefit area youth cancer patient.

We meet Mondays at 5:30 at Rivers’ Edge Grill/Indian Mound Golf Club and welcome visitors to join us to learn more about club activities.
